Spend some time revisiting your goals + approach your manager to double check.
1. Write down your current goals. If you don’t have formal goals, draft 2–3 priorities you believe are most important right now.
2. Add a check-in to your next 1:1 agenda. Keep it simple: “I want to confirm these are still the right goals — or adjust if priorities have shifted.”
3. Preview your goals in advance. Send a quick message or note so that your boss is prepped for the discussion. “I wanted to take a few minutes to ensure I'm headed in the right direction here’s how I currently understand my goals/priorities — does this still match where I should be focused?”
Use the conversation to realign. Be open to reprioritization. If goals aren’t clear, this is your chance to ask your manager to define or co-create them.
